फूलों की घाटी का परिचय –
* फूलों की घाटी चमोली जनपद में स्थित है जो राज्य का सबसे छोटा नेशनल पार्क है
* इसका क्षेत्रफल – 87.50 वर्ग किमी० है ।
* 1982 में फूलों की घाटी को राष्ट्रीय उद्यान घोषित किया गया है ।
* 2005 में से विश्व विरासत में शामिल किया गया है ।
* फूलों की घाटी नर और गंधमाधन पर्वतों के बीच है ।
* फूलों की घाटी के पास से पुष्पावती नदी बहती है ।
* फूलों की घाटी के पास दो ताल और लिंगा अंछरी ताल भी है ।
* फूलों की घाटी मई से नवम्बर तक हिमाच्छादित रहती है ।
फूलों की घाटी की खोज
* फूलों की घाटी की खोजने का श्रेय फ्रैंक स्मिथ और उनके साथी एल्स ओल्ड वर्थ को जाता है।
* जब वह 1931 में कामेट पर्वत के अभियान से लौट रहे थे तब उन्होंने इस घाटी को देखा को देखा था ।
* 1937 में फ्रैंक स्मिथ इस फूलों की घाटी में पुनः आई थे शोध कार्य के लिए और उस समय उन्होंने फूलों की घाटी में 3 महा तक शोध कार्य किया था ।
* फ्रैंक स्मिथ ने अपनी पुस्तक वैली ऑफ फ्लावर के माध्यम से इस फूलों की घाटी को विश्व में प्रसिद्धि दिलाई थी ।
* फ्रैंक स्मिथ ने फूलों की घाटी में लगभग 2,000 या 2,500 से अधिक फूलों की किस्मों की खोज की थी ।
* फ्रैंक स्मिथ इस फूलों की घाटी से 250 किस्म के बीज अपने देश ले गये थे ।
मार्गेट लेंगी की कब्र
* 1939 में फूलों की घाटी की सुंदरता के बारे में सुनकर क्यू बॉटनिकल गार्डन लंदन की ओर से मार्गेट लेंगी शोध कार्य के लिये फूलों की घाटी आयी थी ।
* मार्गेट लेंगी दुर्भाग्य वश वह गंधमादन पर्वत से फिसल गयी उनकी मृत्यु हो गई 4 जुलाई 1939 को मार्केट लेंगी की कब्र यही है ।
उत्तराखंड की अन्य फूलों की घाटी
* चिनाब घाटी को दूसरी फूलों की घाटी कहा जाता है जो चमोली में स्थित है ।
* मल्यू रोखनी फूलों की घाटी यह फूलों की घाटी भी चमोली में स्थित है ।
* मांझी वन फूलों की घाटी यह फूलों की घाटी उत्तरकाशी और हिमाचल के बॉर्डर में है ।
* जौराई फूलों की घाटी टिहरी जनपद में स्थित है ।
* छीयालेख को पिथौरागड में फूलों की घाटी कहते है ।
फूलों की घाटी का धार्मिक महत्व –
* जन श्रुती के अनुसार रामायण काल में हनुमान जी संजीवनी बुटी लेने फूलों की घाटी आये थे ।
